Playoffs? Playoffs? Whose thinking about the stinking Playoffs?

You may not be into sports, let alone football, but I can't let today go by without summoning spirits of past and present and future failures. The reality is that only one team wins it's last game, no matter the league, sport, country, etc. So keeping with my general theme that we all end on what is mistakenly perceived as a negative downer, choose your allegiance wisely and go forward with the perspective that it is only a game.

My "Ray of Sunshine" constantly reminds me that there are two ways to go through the game of life with a smile or with a frown. If we can always remember that the glass is half full, than pointing out the yang and not the yin is simply making trash out of lemons instead of lemonade.

So let's juggle a few lemons on this last day of 2010 and see what squeezes out into pour pitcher. This iPad was my toy purchase and I have enjoyed it's convenience, size, ease, and connectivity. (BTW I will be returning it soon to the Apple store, eat my 10% restock fee and plan to buy a MacBook that has "Flash" so I can manage my website. This is the only iPad drawback I have found but it is a major one - you see there is always another side to my coin.)

Yin XOQ - stay with the Yin .......... The granite is done, the tile looks great, the Van is still running with a very cheap spray paint coating, the Tiburon got fixed (although what is the deal with the coolant??) My "Ray of Sunshine's" clan were all here for Xmas, we have our health, gas logs, and although we still await a full house exterior paint job, the boys are all making enough money to get by.

We got to go to Seattle to see the Vashon and Whidbey family, visited North Lake Tahoe, went camping twice, still have paying tenants, finished the rough draft of ONE's first book, have Zman on board to do the art (these last 2 were my 2010 New Year's resolutions).

Get on board the bus, bring your favorite music, share your stories, tell us about your favorite movies, books, and stay connected. As you can tell by the previously started best of 2011, it might be a good one! XOQ

The Best of 2011

Trucks and SUV's are now only owned and used by people who need a truck for work or an SUV to get through snow or sand. everyone else now has a solar powered car. The number of letters sent and read reached pre-1980 levels. Three gov't businesses were sold to private companies and are now running efficiently: mail service, tax collection, and Congressional abuse investigations. All cell phone use, TV access, and Internet browsing are bundled and costs each person on the planet a total of $50 per month; you can choose from any provider whose commercial makes you feel happy. No athlete or entertainer makes more than 1 million dollars a year and all the rest of the profits from entertainment goes to feed and provide medical care for any people that are truly unable to work due to health, disability, or lack of access to clean water, agriculture, or doctors. This program is privately run as a non-profit in which no one makes any wage or salary. This is the beginning of the year 2011 in review and it makes me smile just to re-read these accomplishments.

Lunch break

This morning's drive of 102 miles allowed space to ponder relating. The assumptions of all communication have completely been overturned and now instant TEXT messages makes only a momentary imprint on the receiver. My awareness speaks to me about the truth that so much more info is flying by, at ever increasing speeds, that when I respond to something, reality itself already has changed.

2 days before the New Year

Another arbitrary calendar event on the horizon to mark the passage of time, offer a reason to drink, wear stupid hats and fill the air with fake "bombs bursting at night." Typical human concept to set up a rotation of existence to compartmentalize reality, schedule interaction and tell each other when it is time to do this or that.

When did it start? Certainly the seasons, sun angle, moon phases, temperature were important to crop growers but city dwellers compounded and manipulated this tool to benefit commerce ($$$$). Think about it.
